Safety Guidelines

  • Once the first float has passed by, do not attempt to walk or run across the street in between parade floats. There are moving vehicles and puts both you and the float operators at risk

  • Children - If you have kids with you, take a group selfie before heading out. LOST CHILD – It’s easy to get separated in a crowd – we know! Saskatoon Police Service, Security Officers and parade Ambassadors will be stationed along the parade route. If you get separated, look for an officer and report to them. For older kids, agree on a pre-designated meeting spot in case you get separated.

  • Park in a safe, well-lit area, near the parade route. Travel in a group to and from parking spot and be aware of your surroundings.

  • Make sure you keep your kids behind the barricades on the parade routes; they are there for a purpose, the safety of parade-goers.

  • Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Dress in layers as the temperature can change during the parade. Dress comfortably – wear a scarf or mask if that is your preference.

  • There are plenty of businesses and restaurants downtown that are open that would welcome you if you need to warm up before or after the parade.

  • Respect the float drivers and other spectators.

  • Respect the police, security and parade ambassadors – they are there to keep you safe.
